O.P.

Does anyone know how to extract an Office 2013 product key from a PC? I have a friend who has lost his retail box.

The usual programs (Produkey, Belarc, Magic JellyBean) aren't working with Office 2013.

Did you try Microsoft VAMT? I think that will work (except for VLK MAKs)

O.P.

I've just installed it and had a look. The product Keys tab reads [0] – I can't find any keys.

Office 2013 is listed under All Products, licensed – retail.

Any tips on how to find the key with this method?

And yes, I've tried the latest Produkey. It says it only supports office 2003/2007.

Are you talking about VAMT? or some other tool?

The latest VAMT doesn't have tabs – there's a tree-view control on the left.

Under the "Products" node, you should have Windows and Office. Select Office.
In the middle-top pane, you should have a list of installed Office products. Select your Office 2013 product

In the middle-bottom pane are the details of your selected Office product. It should include a field called Product Key. For MAK keys it only displays a partial key. I believe, for retail keys, it displays the whole thing (though I could be wrong, as I've not used VAMT with retail keys for a while).

Latest VAMT is available from here:

I was talking about VAMT, sorry.

My VAMT is not doing what you described, however I was able to select office under 'all products' and go to 'View>add/remove columns' which had the options:

Installation ID
Product ID
PARTIAL Product Key

I added these columns. Bugger. It's only giving me 5 characters of the Product Key.

VAMT confirms that it is a retail edition of office, FYI.

I'm using Windows 7. The VAMT you linked was for Win 8.1.
I'm running VAMT Version: 2.0.67.0.

So did you end up finding a way to recover Office 2013 keys?

I tried Belarc Advisor and a few others and it would not pick up and Office15 keys from our machines.

I suspect the issue you may be finding is that some of the Office 2013 products are linked to an account & there may be no key to actually find.

The problem is, we buy boxed versions of H+B 2013 and each install is not tied into a specific account therefore we cannot go online to check the reg info

Until someone sues Microsoft for hiding the product key and not providing a sticker at least, if you don't have the product key saved, recorded or the original card, you're proverbially stuffed...

there is no known way to retrieve 2013 office keys from computers...
